What is Pharmaceutics?
Pharmaceutics is one of the disciplines of pharmacy. It is mainly concerned with the process of turning of a new chemical entity that is also known as NCE. A pharmacy dealing with pharmaceutics or biotechnological issues is somewhere between health sciences and chemical sciences and is one of the appreciated professions. Traditionally, the pharmacies were dealing with medicines for the patients and its use. But pharmaceutics have a changed concept today. The new pharmaceutical roles of the ordinary and biotechnological drug sellers are regulated by Federal Laws. A current addition to the pharmaceutics is patient care that includes clinical practice, medication review, drug information and information on biotechnological concepts. Some of these roles are mandatory in biotechnological practices under the Federal law which is there both for pharmaceutics and biotechnological dealers.
Job of the Pharmaceutics
Pharmaceutics can be defined as the science of dosage from design. A number of chemicals have pharmacological properties. But a raw chemical will be of no use for the patient. A pure drug substance is transformed into a medicine of specific dosage using pharmaceutics technology. There are numerous examples of such specific dose substances formed using the pharmaceutics technology like tablets, capsules, injections, creams, ointments, eye and ear drops, inhalers, sprays, solutions, and powders. Even the gels and pastes are types of such substances formed using pharmaceutics.
Pharmaceutics branches
There are five main branches of pharmaceutics. These are pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical formulation, pharmacodynamics, pharmaceutical technology, and pharmacogenomics. Similarly, a pharmaceutics company is one that has the license to invent, improve, sell and distribute drugs. Such a company is popularly known as the drug company. Recently, another addition has been made that is biotechnological drugs.
Biotechnological technique
Biotechnological technique is a comparatively new invention in medical science and it has completely changed the scenario. Biologic therapies and vaccines are already I use. Even the first generation of biotechnological mdedicines has been able to provide preventives for a dreaded disease like cancer. Biotechnology is a branch of science that highlights the preventives rather than the cure. Scientists believe that with biotechnology and pharmacogenomics it might be possible to provide tailor made medicines for individual patients.
Biotechnological companies
Biotechnological systems always refer to living organisms or its offshoots. A biotechnology company is therefore one such company that uses living organisms or its ancillaries. The main product of biotechnological companies is the pharmaceutics or co-related substances. Biotechnological inventions however involve a high-tech environment. Therefore many smaller organizations enter into a licensing agreement with a big mainstream pharmaceutics company. This enables the smaller companies to make biotechnological medicines for the poor people, most of whom are tribal.
